Welcome!

We will explor what it means to be in this world, but not of this world. John 17:16

2 Corinthians 4:4

Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

The lists below are from teachings of both Pastor Allen Nolan and Chuck Missler.

Names of Satan:

  1. Abbaddon (Rev. 9:11)
  2. Accuser (Rev. 12:10)

  5. Apollyon (Rev 9:11)
  6. Beelzebub (Matt. 10:25)
  7. Belial (2 Cor. 6:15)
  8. Devil (Eph. 6:11)

  16. Satan (Luke 10:18)
  17. Serpent (Rev. 1:29)

What else does scripture tell us about Satan?

  • He has a kingdom which is hostile to Gods kingdom, and he rules a realm of demons. (Matt 9:34, 12:26, 16:18; Luke 11:18)
  • His goal is to deceive (Rev. 12:9, 13:14)
  • He works in the children of disobedience
  • He deceives the whole world (Matt 16:23; Luke 22:31; John 13:2)
  • Satan is capable of possessing men (John 13:27)
  • He has the power of death (Heb. 2:14)
  • He attempted to gain the worship of God Himself (Mark 1:13; Matt. 4:1-10)

What are his powers?

  1. great power (2 Thess. 2:9)
  2. great subtlety (Gen. 3:1)
  3. treacherous snares (2 Tim. 2:26)
  4. wiles (Eph. 6:11)
  5. devices (2 Cor. 2:11)
  6. transforming and impersonation abilities (2 Cor. 11:14)

Below I added some first hand accounts of people who operated in Satan's kingdom. I personally find it crucial to understand how the satanic realm operates to truly protect oneself.

John 10:10 (ESV): 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

2 Corinthians 2:10–11 (NLT): When you forgive this man, I forgive him, too. And when I forgive whatever needs to be forgiven, I do so with Christ’s authority for your benefit, so that Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes. (Unforgiveness is one big way Satan can gain access to us, that's why it's part of our daily prayer life to forgive)

Let's explore 1 John 5:19 and what it really means. (We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.)

What are some of the ways the devil operates today?

  • Education System (Evolution, gender equality/ confusion, general indoctrination)
  • News Media (pandemics, wars all to invoke fear)
  • TV and Movie industry (fornication, sexual perversion, foul language, violence, murder etc.)
  • secular Music (blasphemy against Jesus, cussing, glorifying violence, fornication ....)
  • Sports (Athlete worship, consuming time and money, cussing)
  • Celebrities
  • Books (Novels with violent and sexual content)
  • Pornograpy (Human trafficking, violence, directly geared toward men and teenagers)

We can discuss any of these more in depth during our Zoom call.

In Colossians 3:2 God calls us to "Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth."

Philippians 4:8 Instructs us on what we should allow in our minds "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."

  • Are we upholding Gods standard?
  • What are we consuming and allowing to enter our minds?
  • If Jesus was right next to you, would you listen to this? Read this? Watch this?
  • How is your life different now, have you truly died to your flesh?

Matthew 16:24-26 says:

Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?
